Refreshed in a vibrant speed yellow and midnight navy colourway with crisp white accents, this edition of the Nike Air Tailwind 79 has a distinctly retro aesthetic with modernised features that cater to contemporary comfort and performance needs. Crafted with attention to detail as an accurate remake of an original 1978 model, the uppers are made from durable speed yellow coloured fabric mesh whilst midnight navy suede overlays wrap around the front of the foot, along the laces border and on the back of the heel in addition to signature Swoosh tick emblems on either side of the foot. Helping to keep the fit secure during everyday wear the white lace up fastening sits on top of the tongue which is lightly padded and a woven label showing Nike branding wraps around the top edge, matching the embroidered emblem on the back of the heel. Throughout the inside of the shoe a soft fabric lining runs throughout alongside a responsive Air unit within the insole which provides lightweight cushioning. Completing the design, underfoot the two tone outsole features an iconic waffle tread pattern that supplies a high level of traction suited to wear across a variety of terrains.

Forty years on from its initial debut, the Nike Air Tailwind 79 has been reintroduced in a variety of attractive colour tones and fabric combinations that are reflective of the original design but with modern updates that enhance the much-loved silhouette which has a rich history within running.
